Voice Talent Website Now Accepting Bitcoins

The world’s largest network of voice over casting websites have become the first online voice over agency group to accept the new international currency Bitcoins. The Voice Realm began publically accepting the revolutionary currency on Monday, February 17th.

Clients casting voice actors online can now choose to pay with credit card, PayPal or Bitcoin.

The website has been at the forefront of technology since its launch in March 2012. Following a number of requests from users during the beginning of 2014 for this type of payment, the company decided it would introduce the new payment method to continue their climb to be the number one voice casting service in the world.

As the site presently deals with clients being located around the globe, this new ‘international currency’ is expected to continue to gain traction. Anyone can find voice over talent suited to their needs.

Bitcoin also has the added benefit of having a very secure (military grade) payment system with the option of zero processing fees available as well as providing strong privacy for buyers. Bitcoins can also be transferred from any continent in the world without high transfer fees as with banks or other financial institutions.

Marketing Manager for The Voice Realm Robert James says it was a no-brainer.

“We connect clients on one side of the world with professional voice talent on the other side of the world, and many fees are being paid for all of the conversions of funds. This is one way to reduce fees and streamline things. Also no one is being forced into using the new payments. A client can pay us with Bitcoins and we will still pay the voice talent in their local currency.”

Because Bitcoin is not tied to any country, it will theoretically suffer from less political risk and be more stable.

The Voice Realm now joins other massive online sites that accept the digital money including Overstock, and TigerDirect. The site offers free voice over auditions to clients before they make any commitment.

One Bitcoin is currently valued at around USD$620, with the currency previously hitting a high ofUSD$1,242.

Mr. James says the acceptance will be on a case by case basis.

“We will give preference to existing clients as we want to continue to offer superior service and ensure that everything goes smoothly. New clients are welcome and we will offer voice over recording services at the applicable market rate for Bitcoin to U.S. dollar conversions.”

The online casting site says it will continue to monitor the value of accepting Bitcoins and hopes to expand the service to make payment to voice actors in such way if they wish.
